China?

Or so it would seem:

Skysports.com understands a deal has been agreed to take Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka to Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua.

ManU joke:

A Man Utd fan dies on match day and goes to heaven in his Man Utd shirt. He knocks on the old pearly gates and out walks St. Peter in a Arsenal scarf.

"Hello mate," says St. Peter, "I'm sorry, no Man Utd fans in heaven."
"What?" Exclaims the man, astonished.
"You heard, no Man Utd fans."
"But, but, but, I've been a good man," replies the Man Utd supporter.
"Oh really," says St. Peter. "What have you done, then?"
"Well," said the guy, "Three weeks before I died, I gave 10 pounds to the starving children in Africa."
"Oh," says St. Peter. "Anything else?"
"Well, two weeks before I died I also gave 10 pounds to the homeless."
"Hmmm. Anything else?"
"Yeah. A week before I died I gave 10 pounds to the Albanian orphans."
"Okay," said St. Peter, "You wait here a minute while I have a word with the governor."
Ten minutes pass before St. Peter returns. He looks the bloke in the eye and says, "I've had a word with God and he agrees with me. Here's your thirty quid back, now screw off."

No Emirates Cup 2012 ...

Being Red Bull did well last time, I would have like to see them defend. Seems like some little thing is going on in London at the same time. Oh well ...

...

“Although we are disappointed that we cannot stage the Emirates Cup in 2012, we completely understand and accept the situation.

“Over 100,000 people have attended the Emirates Cup each year since we introduced the competition in 2007, and this would have only added to the demands on London’s infrastructure during the Olympics. Of course, we would have preferred the Emirates Cup to have been staged in 2012, but we completely respect the situation and like everyone, are fully supportive of, and looking forward to a successful London 2012 Olympic Games.”

Discord at the Bridge ...

Supposedly, there's a "new look" Chelsea coming in January:

Chelsea will listen to offers for six senior players in January as owner Roman Abramovich backs Andre Villas-Boas to rebuild the club.

Sportsmail can reveal that Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Jose Bosingwa and Paulo Ferreira are available for transfer, news which follows the weekend announcement that transfer requests from Nicolas Anelka and Alex had been accepted.

...

Note, a few weeks before the transfer window is "silly season" and I'd be amazed if half the rumors are true, but the team will certainly look different if this all comes to pass.

I've heard Frank Lampard will be shown the door too but I'll believe that when I see it.

Good Manchester United joke from my pal Darko:

Teacher asks class if Man Utd is their favourite team. Everyone says yes except for Jimmy.

"What's your favourite team, Jimmy?"

He says, "Liverpool."

Teacher asks "Well why is that?"

"Well, my dad & mom are Liverpool fans, I guess that makes me a Liverpool fan."

Angry teacher says, "If your dad was a moron & your mom was an idiot, what would that make you?"

He replies "Well, that would make me a Man Utd fan."

Update:

While I'm stealing shit from Darko:

Ha-ha!

Carling Cup yesterday saw 2nd Division Crystal Palace v. Manchester United. It started with Palace holding the line and denying United a goal in the first half. The scoring started with this beautiful goal:
